Workshop Goal

The ABaCAS training workshop aims to promote the scientific, systematic, and informatization level of air pollution prevention and control strategies-making, and to explore the optimized (least-cost) control strategy to achieve the proposed air quality goal based on the cost-effective evaluation technique, and furtherly reduce the regional and urban air pollution and its health impacts in China. The ABaCAS system is a community platform for conducting an integrated assessment of emissions control cost and their associated air quality and health benefits, which integrates the comprehensive functions from air quality response, control cost estimate to least cost optimizer, and can provide policy makers and analysts a user-friendly framework to conduct control policy assessment and develop effective control strategies.
This workshop will present the demonstration of example cases and training for functional operation of ABaCAS series tools through several typical case studies. The training sessions will focus on ten key components under the “Air Benefit and Cost and Attainment Assessment System” (ABaCAS), including
